During his one-year visiting scholar program at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2023, Prof. Wan systematically employed innovative microwave technology to synthesize functional materials for diverse applications, including energy storage, catalysis, high-temperature resistance, and infrared thermal management. Furthermore, he conducted research on the interface between these functional materials and special fibers, anticipating significant contributions to energy conversion and storage, aerospace, functional building materials, and other related fields.
Dr. Jun Wan is a specially-appointed professor at Wuhan Textile University, serving as the associate department chair of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He has been selected for the Hubei Chu Tian Talent Program and the Wuhan Youth Science and Technology Sunrise Program. He completed his undergraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and served as a visiting scholar at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Presently, Prof. Wan is a key member of Academician Weilin Xu's team in the State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technologies. He has presided over 10 projects including National Natural Science Foundation, Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Talent Project of Provincial Education Department, etc. He has published over 30 papers in academic journals such as One Earth (a sister publication of Cell). He is a committee member of the Viser Expert Committee on Materials in Singapore and has received awards such as the Best Researcher Award, Young Scientist Award, Hubei Advanced Young Worker in Chemical Industry, and the Youth May Fourth Medal.
